The Mediocre Players Guide to Cav EQ
September 2023
NOTE: I only do a write up on my first fight against the bosses in this Guide. All other Rounds are recorded in the TB Guide since they are the same exact nodes.
Old Sarge's Initial Thoughts: Coming Soon!
Good luck to everyone running EQ this month, I hope this guide helps. As always- when someone posts a champ that kills a quest or a Boss, I'll update the guide!
Chapter 1.1: MYSTIC with SCIENCE as secondary
Easy Path Fights:
Taskmaster: Easy fight except for his immunity to stun/bleed/everything that happens a few seconds into the fight. His SP1 isn't hard to Dex and his SP2 is super easy. I used Black Widow Claire Voyant- she can just regen all the block damage.
Stealth Suit Spidey: He's a pain in the ass. All those evades and non-parry hits. I stay back from him and let him Dash in- you can Parry his dash. Do a couple hits or a Heavy and repeat. His SP1 is super easy to Dex, so bait that. I used Dr Voodoo. Let that Spirit Venom kill him off.
Groot: Oh- this is a Dr Voodoo Kill Fest. He just melts poor Groot. Bait his SP1- his SP2 gets me every time.
Cosmic Ghost Rider: His SP1 is easy for me to Dex, so I bait that. He's an easy fight if you can Dex it. I used Spiderman Supreme even though I have no idea how to use him.
Unstoppable Colossus: His Unstoppable is a pain- bring a Nullifier or Stagger champ like Doom, which is who I used.
Night Thrasher: I always get caught by the shock bolt or whatever he throws at the end of his SP1, so I try to push him to his SP2. I used Spidey Supreme.
Quest Boss: VenomPool (Cosmic)
Main Nodes:
Occult Immunity - Heavy: VP is immune to Nullify, Stagger, and Fateseal. Knocking him down disables the immunity for 15 seconds.
Enhanced Parry - Armor Up: Each time you Parry him, he gets an Armor Up Buff for 15 seconds. Does not stack.
Scared Stiff: Ever 8 seconds you are Rooted for 4 Seconds. The timer is paused while you are doing a Special Attack and it is reset when you land a hit: so be aggressive.
Arrogance: Every 10 hits on your combo meter gives you a Falter Passive for 3 seconds. When you are struck it is removed.
Contagion: Whenever VP is struck or when he blocks an attack there is a 30% chance you will get a Poison for 10 seconds dealing 100% of his attack to you.
Old Sarge Says:
Thronebreaker Fight: I used Hyperion and it wasn't too bad. Just watch the falter and throw Specials and be aggressive. Hyperion's SP2 Stun came in clutch a few times when I got Faltered. No matter what- bring a Poison Immune.
Cavalier Fight: I used Overseer for this fight because he is Poison Immune and when they try to Poison him he gains his charges fast. There seems to be a bad glitch when you launch your Stryker- and that cost me a couple hits and some health. Watch for Root- hit him every 8 seconds or be good at Dexing. I got Rooted once.

Chapter 1.2: SKILL with MUTANT as secondary
Easy Path Fights:
Spiderman Supreme: No doubt- he is a pain in the ass. I used Nick Fury but I couldn't get my Tactical Charges up enough to counter his Astral Evade. So I just Slow-Played it. You ONLY want to bait his SP1. His SP2 just does too much damage! I let Nicks bleeds take him down while I was dancing around waiting for his Astral Form to go on cooldown.
Black Widow Deadly origins: She's easy. Her SP1 can catch you off guard if you aren't careful. But other than that- easy fight. I used Kingpin.
Captain America WWII: Easy fight. I used Masacre.
OG Hulk: He's harder now. He gains Unstoppables and stuff. I used Masacre again. But damn is he a pain- I ended with only 41% health. Stupid Gamma Rage Unstoppables!! And I got clipped by an SP1 and got stunned. Don't make my mistakes!
Captain Marvel: Easy fight. I used Elsa.
Abomination: Bring a Poison immune or a champ that can Shrug his Poisons. I used Kingpin.
Quest Boss: Moleman (Skill)
Main Nodes:
Special 1 Bias: Will throw SP1 more often.
Shock Tether: If either champ has not made contact in 6 seconds both champs get a shock Debuff.
Heavy-Hitter: He is unstoppable during Heavy Attacks- and it lasts a beat after it's over- so don't rush in.
Fight or Flight: He gets an Unstoppable Buff every 12 seconds and it lasts 4 seconds. If you are far away- you get the Unstoppable.
Chum the Waters: Whenever you Dodge an Attack, both champs get a Heal Block Debuff, a Taunt, and a Disorient for 12 seconds.
Old Sarge Says:
Thronebreaker Fight: I brought Agent Venom and his synergy for the path so I just used him. Moleman can be a pain with all his Monster Mass and unstoppable. I was pretty successful at being far away so that I got the Unstoppable from Fight or Flight node. And Agent V is just a beast with his Trinity synergy (Scorpion and Kraven).
Cavalier Fight: I used Elsa Bloddstone for this one. She gives easy access to openings. Just watch out for the Unstoppable timer and be far away from him when it goes off.

Chapter 2.1: COSMIC with MYSTIC Secondary
Easy Path Fights:
Moon Knight: Easy fight. His SP2 is easier to Dex, but the SP1 isn't bad. I'm using Venom the Duck (VtD).
Deadpool (White): Another easy fight. I'm using Herc for a little ramp up.
Stark Spidey (Sparky): Another easy fight- bait his SP1. If you aren't using a Cosmic then Heavy him to knock his evade off. I'm using VtD again.
Anti-Venom: I honestly struggle with him a bit. His SP1 sometimes has a super long reach and I get clipped by it a lot and I can't get the timing down of the projectile on his SP2- like Dr Strange's. lol I am gonna use Herc her since his Dash Back is long and covers a lot of ground.
Invisible Woman: She can be a pain. Normally you want to make her Bleed to shorten her Invisibility. I am gonna use VtD since he has a chance to place a Bleed. If you don't have a Cosmic champ that causes Bleed then just watch her Shield Charges.
Gwenpool: Easy fight. Both her SP1 and SP2 are easy to Dex. I used Herc again.
Quest Boss: Red Hulk (Science)
Main Nodes:
Fractured Guard: You gain a permanent Armor Break Debuff when you block one of his attacks. When you throw a Special it removes one Armor Break from you per Bar of Power consumed in your Special.
Redlining: If you go above 33% of your Max Power you gain a Power Gain Passive which increases your Power Gain. If you go above 75% of your Max Power you are immediately Power Drained to zero.
Toxic Thoughts: If you Parry him both of you get a Poison that does 1% damage over 6 seconds. If you are Poison Immune you get a burst of Direct Damage of the same amount.
Languor: If your Power drops to 0 you take a burst of +240% of the Defenders Attack as Direct Damage. (See above Redlining node).
Encroaching Stun: Every 20 seconds you get Stunned for 3 seconds unless you are performing an SP1 or SP2 when the timer expires.
Old Sarge Says:
Thronebreaker Fight: This is an easy fight for Nick Fury. Nick is Stun Immune in Real Nick Fury. Nick's SP1 is really long, so it makes the timing easy to avoid Encroaching Stun. Just don't let your power build up to fast and go above 75%. And don't Parry in Real Nick Fury phase- you don't want a Poison.
Cavalier Fight: I gave Emma Frost a go here. She is Stun Immune in Diamond Form. She works GREAT, if you don't block. The Fractured Guard node puts a Permanent Armor Break on you. I died. I finished the fight with Hulkling. He has long Specials. And that's the key- choose Champs with really long Specials so that you can time the Encroaching Stun. The other great option is Nick- he is Stun Immune in Real Nick Fury phase- just don't Parry Red Hulk too much because of the Toxic Thoughts Node.

Chapter 2.2: MUTANT with TECH secondary
Easy Path Fights:
Nightcrawler: Pain in the ass, I know. The trick: Wait until he Dashes back and you see the timer pop up under his name- go in and hit his Block 4 times and that will switch him out of his Evade Mode- then it's an easy normal fight. Just don't hit into his block more than a couple times for the rest of the fight. I used Apoc to get the Mutant Charges.
OG Spidey: He's squirrelly- I used Archangel. His Neurotoxin stops Spidey's evade.
Deadpool (Red): Easy fight. I used Bishop.
Toad: Tough fight. His SP1 is way easier to Dex, but that first hit has a LONG reach. I used Sunspot. But I got clipped by that damn SP1 and died. Finished up with Bishop.
Gladiator Hulk (GHulk): Watch out for his Hulk Smash- where he goes Unstoppable. I used Apoc.
America Chavez: What a pain in the ass Defender. Just launches Heavies outta nowhere all the time. Make sure you interupt her Heavies!! I used Archangel to get her down fast before her Power Gain etc gets out of control. Bait her SP1- it's way easier to Dex.
Quest Boss: Baron Zemo (Skill)
Main Nodes:
Ebb & Flow - Intercept: He has Protection. You can take it down by Intercepting him. You also get a Fury Passive when you intercept for 12 seconds. After the Fury expires the Protection returns and all Debuffs on him are Purified.
Repeat Offender - Taunt: Landing the same type of Basic Attack in a row inflicts a Taunt on him for 3 seconds.
Enhanced Special 2: His SP2 does more damage and the first part is Unblockable.
Wavering Will - Intercept: You can't reduce his Ability Accuracy. intercepting him disables this for 10 seconds.
Stay Awhile and Listen (Passive): When you get Rooted you are also Special Locked for 3 seconds.
Old Sarge Says:
Thronebreaker Fight: Tough fight. I had a ramped up Apoc and it was still close. I ended at 17% health left. Bait his SP1, it's easy to dex. But if you do push him to SP2- you gotta dex that first part because he is Unblockable. Rooted sucks, and the passive SP lock sucks harder, just make sure you have a Special ready.
Cavalier Fight: I went in with Bishop but it didn't go very well. He's hard to Parry so it's hard to build up Prowess for the big SP2. Kitty is a GREAT choice. Easy access to Intercepts. I finished him easily with her.

Chapter 3.1: TECH with COSMIC as secondary
Easy Path Fights:
Namor: Easy fight. I used Cap Sam.
Arch Angel: Easy fight- I used OG Iron Man to start feeling out his Rework.
Havok: Make sure you bring a Champ with an Armor Up. I used Cap Sam and it was an easy fight. I prefer to push him to SP2 as I find it easier to Dex.
Elektra: Easy fight. Anyone can do it. I used Cap Sam.
Quicksilver: He's a pain in the ass- I used Cap Sam- but Locked on didn't seem to stop his Evade. So I just Brute Forced him.
Dragon Man: His Power Gain is a pain. I used Cap Sam again but it was an ugly win. Parry him a lot to try and keep the Power Gain down.
Quest Boss: Iron Man (Tech)
Main Nodes:
Attacker Special Burst Lock Down: When you launch a Special Iron man is inflicted with a Heal Block and an Armor Break Debuff for 5 seconds.
Enhanced Special 1: His SP1 does more damage and the first part is Unblockable.
Combo Up: His Combo Meter increases by 1 each second unless you Intercept him. Then it's paused for 10 seconds.
Obstinate Charge: He is Stun Immune on his first attack. This goes on cooldown for 8 seconds if you Parry him, but not on the original Parry- he will be Stun Immune for that.
The Walls Are Closing In: You get 10 Tactus Charges when the fight starts and a 30 second timer begins. Each second that either of you are backed against the wall it reduces the Tactus Charges by 1. If the Charges are not at 0 when the 30 seconds are up then you take Degen dealing 30% of your Max Health over 5 seconds. When the Timer expires, the 30 seconds starts over and the Tactus Charges are reset.
Old Sarge Says:
Thronebreaker Fight: He's a fun champ to fight. His SP1 took me a little time to learn to Dex, but it's not bad. Man that BIG ASS Regen he gets just kills your Spirit! lol. Try to keep him Heal Blocked. I used Hulkling and got the One-Shot, but it was only because Hulkling has a ton of Regen. Hulkling also helps to keep him pinned against the wall. I am pretty sure he is gonna cost me a couple champs and maybe a few revives as I explore. lol
Cavalier Fight: Looks like Galan is a beast for this fight. Just Launch SP1. It gives him a Heal Block from the Attacker Special Burst Lock Down Node and does a ton of damage. Easy W for Galan.

Chapter 3.2: SCIENCE with SKILL secondary
Easy Path Fights:
Luke Cage: Easy fight. I used Scorpion.
Beast: Easy fight. I used Overseer.
White Mags: I always hate fighting him. I cannot Dex his SP1 (or Red Mags SP2). I just push him to SP2 as much as I can. I used CapIW.
Super Skrull: He's annoying. I prefer to use a Mystic for him, but I am gonna use Overseer.
Omega Red: Just remember to back up every once in a while and let the Spores fall off of you. Bait his SP1. Don't use a Champ that cause him to Bleed or you're gonna have a bad time. I used CapIW.
Doctor Strange: He's annoying- bait the SP1 unless you can Dex his SP2. His Power Gain is a pain- I'll use Scorpion to put Power Stings on him and use his Power Gain to my advantage.
Quest Boss: Gladiator (Cosmic)
Main Nodes:
No Hit-M...ercy (Buff): Each time you knock him down he gains a Cruelty Buff giving him extra Crit Damage for 10 seconds. While he has the Cruelty he can Crit into your Block.
Now You See Me: Every 8 Seconds you get a Falter for 3 seconds. The timer resets each time you land a hit.
Steady Perseverance: When he launches a Special Attack, he gets a Stun Immune Buff for 4 seconds plus 2 seconds for each of his Unique Buffs. This Buff is paused during his Special Attacks.
Debilitate: Any Debuff he puts on you has +100% duration.
Long Distance Infinity: When he is far away from you- his Cruelty, Unstoppable, Vigilance, and Indestructible Buffs are paused.
Old Sarge Says:
Thronebreaker Fight: Welp! He's a bit of a Pain. Push him to his SP2. It sucks to evade but at least he doesn't get a long ass Unstoppable. Someone like CapIW might help with that. I ran Knull against him first just to get a fell for him. Then I brought in Agent Venom with his full synergy Team and I was able to get him down, but it wasn't fun. I was gonna try BWCV but Agent V did the job. Anyone that can deal with Unstoppable should help. (might try Spider Gwen next). But his SP1 gives you a Cold Snap and his SP2 gives you an Incinerate. So beware!
Cavalier Fight: I tried Spider Gwen and died dead super fast. The Falter Debuff got me in a bad way. Went back in with CapIW and he handled the fight super easy. I pushed him to his SP2 and just blocked it. One SP2 and he was down. He goes Stun Immune after his Specials so you take a lot of Block which builds CapIW up fast.
