The Mediocre Players Guide to Thronebreaker EQ
March 2023
Old Sarge's Initial Thoughts: Easy Path's are decently easy. Chps. 2.1, 2.2, and 3.2 are annoying and will probably have some solid roadblocks in them when I go for exploration.
Old Sarge's Final Thoughts: Coming eventually!
Good luck to everyone running EQ this month, I hope this guide helps. As always- when someone posts a champ that kills a quest or a Boss, I'll update this spreadsheet!

Chapter 1.1: SKILL
Main Nodes:
Martial Discipline: Every 5 crits purify all Debuffs from you.
Fighting Pit: When you are immune to a Debuff you get a fury.
Accident Prone: Every 5 seconds you are inflicted with a Debuff in the following order: Weakness, Disorient, Armor Break, and then Special Lock. Each last 10 seconds.
Heal Block: Permanent heal block.
Bring:
Anyone that crits a lot. OMG- Misty is sooo good here! Stealthy is a beast. Nick F works but takes a long time to ramp up. Blade works well. Hit-Monkey. Aegon, Shang-Chi, MoleMan, Ronin is a lot of fun here. GwenPool is fun as well, KingPin, Falcon, XBones, DDHK - pretty much any skill champ can run these paths. Elsa, Black Panther OG, BWDO
Landmine Path Fights:
Up Path: Watch out for Spidey Supreme, he phases when he attacks. And there is a Joe Fixit at the end, but he isn't too bad.
Down Path: This was a rough one for me. I barely made it through Annihilus with my R4 Nick. Sersi is a pain in the ass, I lost Gwenpool to her. Elsa cleaned up. I lost Elso to BlackCat and Nick cleaned up the rest- she's such a pain to fight. Nick mowed down Dr. Strange. Nick also did a lot of work on Jabari Panther but died so Misty had to clean up, but even that was a close call, she's a pain in the ass as well.
Quest Boss: Punisher 2099 (TECH)
Main Nodes:
Indomitable: His healing can't be reversed. Only prevented.
Maximum Overdrive: When his battery reaches intervals of exactly 25%, he gains 25% of a bar of power over 5 seconds.
Heal or hide: He gets a regen buff every 12 seconds. If you are far away you get the regen instead.
Unyielding Assault: When he has a regen he also has a precision passive giving him increased Crit Chance for 8 seconds.
Old Sarge Says:
Round 1: Pretty easy fight. Doom was wrecking him so I quit out and brought in Red Mags, P99 is #METAL, so you know that's gonna be an easy W. It was. lol
Round 2: Galan takes him down nice and easy. This isn't a difficult fight.
Final Round: I meant to switch Galan for someone else but I forgot, so Galan notches another W here.

Chapter 1.2: Cosmic
Main Nodes:
Cosmic Grit: You need 3 Fury, Armor Up, or Precision Buffs and you get an Aptitude Buff.
Pumping Iron: They take 60% less damage when you have no buffs. Each buff you have reduces the 60% by 20%. So if you have 3 buffs they take full damage.
Bring:
Angela, Hype, Gamora, CGR, Venom, Hela, SuperSkrull, maybe even Kamala Khan.
Crowd Sourced Intel: For extra fun bring Odin and throw his pre-fight buffs on Angela or Venom for a faster ramp up (or any other Cosmic).
Landmine Path Fights:
Easy Path: Don't forget about Cassie's Combo Detonation thing.
Quest Boss: Crossbones (Skill)
Main Nodes:
Power of Will: You can't reduce his Ability Accuracy (He will be able to shrug off parry)
Float Like a Butterfly...-3: His Fury effects are indefinitely paused, unless you Dodge or Evade (dex) an attack.
Specialist -2: Your SP2 does 50% MORE damage but SP1/3 do 50% less.
Redlining: When you go over 33% of your Max Power you get a Power Gain Passive. If you go over 75% of your Max power you are immediately drained to 0.
Beat the Buzzer: When you fill a Bar of Power an 8 second timer starts. If you don't use your Special before it expires you are dealt a big burst of damage.
Old Sarge Says:
Round 1: Pretty easy fight. Apoc walked through him and that was without any charges. He is also #METAL, but the Power of Will node probably negates that, but I am not sure.
Round 2: I used Venom with no issues.
Round 3: I brought in Angela and she worked fine until the game decided I should not dex his SP1 and I should just eat it. Finished up with Hulkling with no issues.
Final Round: I knocked it out with Venom again since he just seems to clobber this fight easily, but anyone can do it.

Chapter 2.1: Multi-
#Mercenary/#Guardians of the Galaxy/Mutants
Main Nodes:
Bloody Barb: Mutant, #Mercenary or #Guardians of the Galaxy Attackers inflict a Bleed Passive on the Defender whenever they inflict a Stun Debuff on the Defender, dealing 15% Direct Damage over 6 seconds.
Bleeding Edge: Mutant, #Mercenary or #Guardians of the Galaxy Attackers gain a Cross Charge each time they inflict the Defender with a Bleed effect. Max stacks 10.
Obstinate Charge: When the Defender performs the first attack in any combo, the Defender is Stun Immune until the attack ends.
Crimson Rage: Every 8 seconds the Defender gains an Unstoppable Buff for 4 seconds, unless they are suffering from a Bleed Debuff or Passive when the timer expires.
Explanation: Apply a bleed whenever you stun. Get cross charge every time you apply bleed. First of defender's combo is stun immune. Defender becomes unstoppable every 8 seconds unless they're bleeding. Time to work on those re-parry's.
Old Sarge Says: You can also bring nullifiers- the fights are a bit longer but way, way easier.
Hammy Says: Just use Apoc and ignore most of the nodes.
Bring:
Mutant: Any (reparry). Mutants that cause Bleed will be better: Wolvie, OML etc.
Apoc works great- looks like you can parry as normal with him- might be a bug but it works. (NOTE: Apoc can no longer parry as normal, that sucks- he is still great for the Quest though.)
#Mercenary: BWDO, Domino, GwenPool, Hit Monkey, Karnak, Luke Cage, Nebula (worthless for this quest), Sabretooth, Massacre, all the Deadpool's, Yondu, Elektra, Winter Soldier, Moon Knight, BW, TaskMaster, Misty Knight, Absorbing Man, Wolvie (Weapon X),
#GotG: StarLord, Gamora, Drax, Agent Venom. Rocket, Groot, Mantis
Landmine Path Fights:
Easy Path: If you have a Doom, bring him for CMM and Vision Aarkus, super easy fights with him. Doom is also really good for Purgatory as well.
First Left Path: Cap WWII first fight. I had a lot of trouble with this path at first. Attuma was a big pain point. I brought Doom and took him down, but it was still a pain. Rest of the path isn't too bad. Apoc is still the boss of this Quest.
First Right Path: Wolvie is the first fight (easy). But there is a pain is the ass Mr. Negs (I started the fight with Reverse Controls- not sure why. Push him to his SP2 as much as possible) and right after is Void - folks running Full Recoil might have a hard time with him.
Quest Boss: Red Skull (TECH)
Main Nodes:
Armor Break Immunity: No armor breaks allowed- sucks.
Foresight: Intercepting gets you a Passive Fury for 5 seconds.
Kinetic Reactor: He gets power when he hits your block.
Power Struggle: You only get a bar of power when he gets one, and you lose yours when he launches his special. So launch it when you get it.
Explosive Personality: He gets an Armor Up when he blocks an attack. When he gets 5 Armor Ups they explode and you lose 25% of your health.
Old Sarge Says:
Round 1: Bring some nullifiers. Doom worked great. Just watch his Power Gain from hitting your block and launch SPs when you get them. I liked pushing him to SP2 and then launching my SP1.
Round 2: I used BWCV but she stops nullifying his Armor Ups after a while unless you push him to SP2 and use yours first.
Round 3: You can do it with Red Mags, but it takes a while.
Round 4: I tried Sigil Witch and while it is doable, it takes forever. So I quit out and finished with Red mags since I was using him for the Mutant paths.
Final Round: Out of everyone- My Doctor Voodoo was the fastest take down- 1:24. And the easiest. Just turn all his armor to Spirit Venom and watch him melt.
Civilian Intel:
Cable with Apoc synergy and just use heavies.
I used AA for red skull every time Ik there are better options but it was just a little fun in an otherwise unfun eq

Chapter 2.2: Multi-
#Spider-Verse Heroes/#Symbiote/#Sinister Six/Science
Main Nodes:
Sidestep Strike: #Spider-Verse Heroes, #Symbiote or #Sinister Six Attackers gain an Evade Charge whenever they knock the Defender down, which grants a 100% Chance to Evade Unblockable attacks. Whenever an Unblockable Basic attack is Evaded, the Defender is Passively Stunned for 0.9 seconds.
Furious Feint: #Spider-Verse Heroes, #Symbiote or #Sinister Six Attackers gain 2 Cross Charges each time they Evade any attack. Max stacks 10.
Escalating Assault: Every 6 seconds the Defender gains an Unblockable charge, making their next Attack Unblockable. Unblockable Charges are consumed whenever the Defender attacks, regardless of whether the Attack hits.
Explanation- Knock them down as much as you can. NOTE: You won't have enough time to heavy when they are stunned. Gain an evade charge whenever you knock down the defender granting 100% chance to evade Unblockable attacks. Evading a Unblockable basic attack passively stuns the defender. Gain 2 cross fight charges (tagged champs only) every time you evade. Every 6 secs, the defender gains an Unblockable charge
Bring:
Science Champs: Any (if you don't get hit).
#Spider-Verse Heroes: Peni Parker, Spider Gwen, Spider Ham, Miles, Sparky, Stealthy, Spidey 2099, Spider-Man (Supreme), Spider-Man (OG)
#Symbiote: Anti-Venom, Knull, Red Goblin, Venom, Venompool, Sym Supreme, VtD, Carnage, Agent venom, Spider-Man (Symbiote)
#Sinister Six: Doc Ock, Mysterio, Vulture, Rhino, Green Goblin, Iron Patriot, Electro, Scorpion, Kraven
Crowd Sourced Intel: Great Synergy Team: Spider-Ham, Quake, Nick, SheHulk + one random for the boss fight. (Spider-Ham gets a lot of evades and SheHulk boosts her chance to get Furies)
Landmine Path Fights:
Easy Path | Portal A: Second fight is Emma Frost bring someone that can armor break her- I brought CapIW (Science) with Venom for the Armor Break on Parry synergy. There is also a Thing at the end that might cause people some issues- I used Venom.
Portal B: This path was rough for me. America Chavez was a massive pain in the ass- I lost a champ here. Don't let her heavy (easier said than done) and only let her throw SP1s. Next up is a horrid Spot- I lost two champs to this a-hole! I have no idea how to make this easier for you. Next up is Stryfe- I didn't have to much issues with him but he did wear down my Venom pretty good. Final path fight is Overseer, I had to heal up Venom after losing Peni. His auto-block after his Specials coupled with Unblockable can be annoying. I ended up just dancing around him until both fell off and using intercepts and SPs when I could.
Portal C: Looks super shitty- Sauron (Well, well, well- Wasp totally dominated this fight, 0 hits received- she is amazing for this fight since her Heavy mechanic allows you to control the node and push him to SP2), Bishop (Got him to 50% with Anti-Venom, but Wasp got destroyed, finished up with Peni Parker- should have started with her), Apoc (got the 1-shot with Peni but it was damn close), Man-Thing (healed up Peni and she handled him easily.), and Terrax (1-shot with Venom - you will have to sacrifice some health to push him back after his Specials, but just keep chipping away and pushing him back), OG Thor is an easy kill. NOTE: The extra node didn't make a difference for me. I ignored it completely.
Portal D: Bait Wiccan's SP1 only, super easy to punish. anyone can do it. I Torch'd Sasquatch but it was close- Flame On!! Cable kicked my ass- took out my Peni, finally got him with Spot but it was close. I was doing great on Venom with my Venom until he launched an SP1 while I was far away from him and he was Unblockable. lol, revived Venom for the last 7%. Game glitched on me and Deadpool kicked my ass quick. Revived Venom and it went alot better the last time.
Portal E: Weird interaction with Stark Spidey defender- NOTE: he ignores the node completely, you knock him down and when he rushes in he isn't stunned, he just pummels you- play him as unblockable the whole fight. I was really worried about Jessica, and for good reaso- she's a pain, but she wasn't too bad. Peni Parker got her to 50%, but my SP2 didn't do any damage, almost like Jessica is Incinerate Immune or something. Finished her off with Venom pretty easily. Final fight is Rhino and he can be a bit of a pain cause you can't intercept him easily. Just dex him and work in your Specials to knock him done and get the charges- I lost Venom and Torch to this guy cause his Sp1 kept clipping me.
Civilian Intel for Paths: Path B: Watch out for anti-evade champs like Stryfe on path B (can’t evade his medium) Path C: Apoc.
And while I haven’t gotten to him yet, am betting Venom will shut down the node interaction for spider hero champs.
Quest Boss: Captain America (IW) (SCIENCE)
Main Nodes:
Enhanced Abilities -150: All his abilities trigger 150% more often.
Pass the Buck -3: When you get a Bar of power you get a 10 second Power Sting. You can remove it by intercepting him and then it gets placed on him.
Size matters:
XL Champs: Can't be glanced
Large Champs: Special Attacks, Intercepts, and Heavies can't be glanced.
Medium Champs: Intercepts and Heavies can't be glanced.
Small Champs: Heavies can't be glanced.
Micro-Reflect: When CapIW glances a portion of the Damage is reflected back to you.
Obstinate Charge: He is Stun Immune for the first attack, it goes on cool-down after you land a Parry. Time to Reparry!
Debilitating Refund -2: His Specials cost 80% less power while you have a Debuff applied. (Remove those Power Stings by intercepting!!
Old Sarge Says:
Round 2: Super easy fight with HulkBuster. HB is XL and has power drain. Just be careful of the Debilitating Refund node. Sometimes it can be hard to work in those intercepts. Just push him back when he's blocking until the Power Sting drops off you.
Round 2: I was going to try out Venom on this round but he took a beating on the path so I went in with HulkBuster and knocked him down the same way as in Round 1.
Round 3: Super easy fight with Venom. Bait his Sp1 as soon as he gets it to help keep his power in check to safely intercept when you get the Power Sting.
Round 4: Another easy W with Venom.
Final Round: Easy W with HulkBuster.

Chapter 3.1: Mystic
Main Nodes:
Bring all the nullifiers. It’s gonna be fun! Main Nodes: It doesn’t matter. Just bring nullifiers
Bring:
Doom, BWCV, Dr. Voodoo, LongShot, Tigra etc.… Any Mystic that nullifies.
Landmine Path Fights:
Easy Path | Portal A: He isn't hard, just long- first fight is Mr. Sinister.
Portal E: First fight is a Pain in the Ass Mordo- bring someone that can nullify his Armors he gains from hitting his block (from the extra node- Explosive Personality).
Quest Boss: Kate Bishop (SKILL)
Main Nodes:
Heavy Bias: She is gonna heavy a lot.
Bubble Shield -3: Each time you block an attack your Block Proficiency is reduced by 6%. After 10 blocks she will get an Unblockable.
Arrow to the Knee -3: She starts with 7 indefinite Cruelty Passives, which increases her Crit Damage. If you interrupt her Heavy Attack you steal a Cruelty.
Ricochet: If you are against your wall you can't Dex her Specials.
Old Sarge Says:
Round 1: Easy fight. I made a lot of mistakes. Her arrow on her SP1 comes a lot faster than Hawkeyes, must be cause she's younger. And her heavy has REACH!! I did a lot of damage with Massacre, should have been a solo. Finished up with Kitty.
Round 2: OK, figured it out- don't parry her and then attack. She will counter it and stun you and kick your ass. Just punish her SP1 and her Heavy. Easy fight. I lost Doctor Voodoo but I learned the trick to not Parry and attack. Easy W with Doom after that though.
Round 3: I tried again with Masacre but made one mistake and that was pretty much the end of that fight. Doom finished up.
Round 4: Ran Hulkling and he did great until I made a small mistake and it was lights out. Finished up with Doctor Voodoo- he's a solid choice here as she gains a decent amount of Buffs that you can convert to Spirit Venom. Still no 1-Shot though. I keep making small mistakes and she hits hard and puts a lot of Debuffs on you when you screw up.
Round 5: FINALLY!! Got the 1-Shot with Hulkling. No parry, just bait her Heavy and SP1 and retaliate.
Final Round: I am happy to report a flawless fight with BWCV. Ended with 100% health and 0 hits taken.
Final Thoughts: Not a hard fight once you stop using Parry and learn to dex her SP1. When she starts her SP1 just backup once and wait until she lands in front of you and then dex and punish. Kate's animations are a bit jarring, similar to Misty, and her reach is a little inconsistent, but overall she looks amazing and seems like she will be a fun champ to play.

Chapter 3.2: TECH
Main Nodes:
High Voltage: When you power drain/lock/burn the defender gets shocked.
Shocking Revelation: When the defender is shocked and either champ launches a special you get a fury.
Fighting Dirty: They get an Unblockable passive for 6 secs after their special UNLESS they are shocked.
Bring:
Power Drain/Lock/Burn! Or ones that Shock! iDoom, Silver Centurion, Peni, Nimrod, Warlock, G2099, Civil Warrior, Nebula, Guardian, Vision(s), HulkBuster (heavy shocks), Sentinel, IMIW (after first Sp1 its Shock City). DocOk is a lot of fun here as well. Red Skull can knock these fights out as well!!
Landmine Path Fights:
Easy Path: There is an OG Spider-Man and a Nick Fury on this path.
Right Middle Path: First fight is an easy BWDO. But the last fight is Ebony Maw. I always struggle with him- lost HulkBuster and Captain Sam, but Peni Parker worked great against him.
Quest Boss: Viv Vision (TECH)
Main Nodes:
Immovable Object: Every 5 hits in your combo meter gives you a Steadfast Charge. This charge lets you block one Unblockable hit. Each charge also gives you +10% Block Proficiency during Viv's Special Attacks.
Special 1 Bias: She will launch SP1 more often.
Ticking Time Bomb -1: Each time you Parry you get a Fuse Charge. When you get 3 Fuse Charges they are consumed and you take damage equal to 15% of your Max Health. You can remove the Fuse Charges by hitting her Block.
Break By Break: When you Armor Break her you suffer -100% Armor Break Ability Accuracy for half a second. Honestly, I am not sure what this means. lol
Old Sarge Says:
Round 1: I'm not great with Hulkling but he got the One Shot. Her SP2 is super easy to evade, so push her to that if you can. She is also #METAL, So Red Mags might work here.
Round 2: Looks like Red Mags works pretty damn well- she's #METAL.
Round 3: Easy W for Galan- normal play style works fine- just make sure you hit her Block after the second Parry because of the Ticking Time Bomb node.
NOTE: There is one final move after the Boss Fight!!!
Civilian Intel:
Galan is basically a cheat code for Viv if you have him awakened. Every hit triggers his immunities, so two 5 hit combos + heavy + sp1 = dead.
