Quest Global Node:
Power Struggle: The Attacker cannot gain Power during the fight through normal means. Each time the Defender reaches a full Bar of Power, the Attacker is granted one as well and whenever the Defender launches a Special Attack, the Attacker loses an equal amount of Power.
Basics:
Two normal combos (MLLLM) normally give the opponent a little bit above 1 bar of power. So, if you can do this, you will have a bar of power to use before the end of your combo.
1 combo.
A half combo (MLL or MLM) or a Heavy to give them a bit more power.
Then 1 more combo.
The final thing to remember is that if the combo-ending hit is the one that pushes the opponent over a bar of power, then you get a bar of power because of the node, you cannot use that special because you will use it too late and they will block it (or you can use someone like HB, Valkyrie, Massacre who benefits from their special attacks being blocked.)
Don't Do This!
How I did it.
DOs and DON'Ts of Power Struggle:
Do:
There are 2 main playstyles with this node. Use people who benefit from being able to spam their SP1. Aegon and Shuri, who I used, are good examples of this. Aegon gets a fast ramp up, and so does Shuri.
The other playstyle is just to not throw Special Attacks. Using someone like AA, Torch, Quake, or Diablo who doesn’t need to use their special attack will work just as well.
Don't:
Try to launch a Special after a full 5-Hit Combo unless you already had a bar of power before starting the combo.
Path:
Superior Iron Man -> Falcon -> Sabretooth -> Venom -> She-Hulk -> OML -> Winter Soldier -> Crossbones (Boss)
Key Fights:
Falcon: Use someone who doesn’t apply too many Debuffs.
She-Hulk: This fight has Vigor, so this fight must be done with someone who deals a lot of damage or can stop her healing.
Winter Soldier: Use someone who doesn’t apply too many buffs.
Crossbones (The Boss): The 2 main nodes for this fight are Poison and Arc Overload. The annoying one is Arc Overload because that means that the fight will be much longer than the other boss fights. To counter the Poison node, do one of these things:
Bring a Poison immune or resistant Champ.
Bring a Champ with Tenacity type abilities.
Bring a Champ with healing.
Bring a Champ with Immortality, Damage ignore or Damage Reflect. Examples: Hercules, Kitty Pryde (Awakened), or Namor.
Willpower mastery.
The part that makes this boss hard is that on top of needing someone who counters the Poison node, you also must counter the Arc Overload, and there are a few ways of doing that:
Bring a Champ whose damage increases as the fight progresses.
Bring a Champ with really high damage.
Bring a Champ who passively heal blocks.
Bring a Champ who nullifies, or some mystic ability that stops/shortens the buff.
Additional Notes:
This quest has been dubbed the hardest quest in 6.1. But I purposely used a very inefficient counter to the boss fight to show you that if you have a decent counter this quest is definitely within your reach.
