Behind the Stripes

Who is "The Old Sarge"?

Enlisted Grit, Technical Wit

I retired from the Air Force after more than 23 years of service. I wasn't sitting behind a polished desk in headquarters—I was an Airman who put in the work, from running conduit and fixing runway lights as an electrician to managing the back-end servers that keep the mission moving. I earned my stripes leading crews through construction, renovations, and complex system deployments.

The “Sarge” name isn't some gimmick; it’s a title earned through two decades of NCO leadership, technical problem-solving, and mission execution.

The Mission: Tactical Intel

I apply that same mission-driven focus to the MCoC community with two clear objectives:

Systems Logic & Cybersecurity

Today, I work in Cybersecurity and hold a Master’s in IT Management. This site is built on the intersection of military discipline and technical systems logic. Whether I’m securing a network or analyzing game mechanics, the goal is always the same: Efficiency, integrity, and clear communication.

The Old Sarge is built for Summoners who want sharp intel without the "endless scroll." You won't find fluff or filler here—just the intel you need to win. And because no plan survives first contact with the enemy, I keep it real: I’ll tell you when a fight is a masterpiece of design, and I’ll tell you when it’s a technical dumpster fire that deserves a bit of "constructive" Sarge-level frustration.

This site is backed by a career spent keeping the lights on, the systems running, and the data secure.
