The Mediocre Players Guide to Thronebreaker EQ
March 2024
Old Sarge's Initial Thoughts: A couple hard fights on the Easy Path. I had issues in Chp. 1.2 with Annihilus and Mordo. And I had an issue with Red Skull in Chp. 3.2. Chp. 1.2 Mangog Boss is a pain to fight as well. All the other Bosses were easy if you have the right counters (especially for Korg in Chp. 2.1). Both Bosses are solid. I like The Destroyer more. Serpent was the easier fight with Doom.
Old Sarge's Final Thoughts: Not too bad a month. A couple pain point fights but not too bad.
Mint's EQ MVP:
Good luck to everyone running EQ this month, I hope this guide helps. As always- when someone posts a champ that kills a quest or a Boss, I'll update this spreadsheet!
Chapter 1.1
COSMIC
Main Nodes:
Crack in the Armor: When the defender has an armor break on them you have a 10% chance (per armor break) to get a passive fury when you land an attack.
Tough As Nails: Defender gets an armor up ever 3 secs.
Mystic Ward: Your nullify has a 95% chance to fail.
Bring:
Any Cosmic works. Those with easy access to Armor Breaks even better. Captain Marvel Movie, Knull (pop an Sp1 and all the armor breaks add up quick!), Angela (Odin Pre-fight is even better!), CGR, King Groot, Hyperion, Cull Obsidian, Corvus, Aarkus, Venom, Medusa, Terrax, Air-Walker (with Peni Parker synergy).
Civilian Intel:
Herc with CapIW and BP synergy absolutely wrecks!
Heim, CGR (Path MVP), Galan(duped only), Hulkling

Landmine Path Fights:
Easy Path: There is a Shocker at the end of this path and he's always a pain. Watch for his Back-to-Back SP1's and his Unblockable.
Quest Boss: Squirrel Girl (Skill)
Main Nodes:
Combo Up: Every 0.2 seconds her combo meter goes up !. If you intercept this is paused for 5 seconds.
Performance Anxiety: You get an Unsteady Debuff if you launch 2 Special's within 15 seconds. Your attacks will glance for 10 seconds.
Rubber Band: When your Combo Meter hits 10 (or any multiple of 10: 10, 20,30, etc), she will get a 5 second Unblockable Buff.
Whittle Down: She takes 60 % less damage when she has no Debuffs on her. Each Debuff lessens the damage reduction by 20%. They can be the same Debuffs.
Old Sarge Says:
Round 1: Pretty easy fight. I bait her SP1 and she is usually quick to throw it. I used OG Wolverine but anyone that puts Debuffs on her will work. Sunspot would probably dominate this fight.
Round 2: Yup- Sunspot melts her pretty quick.
Final Round: Not the best option- but my 7* R1 Unduped War Machine took her down in 155 hits. lol Spammed SP1. I should have started with SP2 for that long Armor Break and then Spammed SP1s until the Armor Break expired and then started the cycle over.
Civilian Intel:
Weapon X
Knull crushes this fight
ArchAngel works great- Parry heavy a couple of times and she melts once the neuros hit.
CGR works here
Zemo wrecks Squirrel Girl
Duped Shuri (esp. w/ Attuma or Namor synergy) owns Squirrel Girl. Can block her Unblockable specials + keep constant Debuffs up.
Both Apoc and Onslaught work great

Chapter 1.2
MUTANT
Main Nodes:
Seeing Red: Mutants take 90% less bleed damage. Launching a Special removes the bleed and gives you a fury.
Biohazard: 20% chance to get a bleed when you strike them. 50% chance you get a poison if you hit their block.
Bloodletting: Increase duration of bleed effects by 100%
Bring:
Omega Red! OML. Colossus. Apoc. Rogue, Cable, Iceman. Emma is awesome! Any mutant champ works just don't hit into their block. Easy life! Apoc Horsemen do reall well for this Quest.
NOTE: Domino and ArchAngel seem to be struggling to gain furies. Maybe something to do with how they reduce Ability Accuracy on the defender- I don't know.

Drachenherz Brings the Pain:
Path counters provided by Drachenherz:
Landmine Path Fights:
Easy Path: 2nd fight is Annihilus. I hate fighting him. Last fight is Mordo- I didn't see him while scouting cause he's after a Portal. Bring a Poison Immune to hit into his Block when he goes Defensive (I haven't had to use a revive on a path for a long time, but I did on this one).
Left Path: First fight is Spiderman Supreme and he is such a pain without a counter. I had to restart the path 3 times before I had a good run on him. If you have ProfX then bring him but I got stubborn and wanted to use Onslaught.
Quest Boss: Mangog (Mystic)
Main Nodes:
You Get the Horns: If you Intercept or interrupt his Heavy he gets an indefinite Fury. When he gets 5 Fury buffs they are removed and you get 1 for 10 seconds.
Dazed and Confused: If you Parry more than once within 9 seconds you get a Falter for 5 seconds.
Powerful: He is immune to ALL forms of Power Manipulation.
Cold Turkey: Whenever you purify a Debuff you take a burst of Degen Damage equal to 40% oh his Attack.
Consistent Combos: You have to do full 5-Hit Combos or you get an Unsteady Debuff for 8 seconds causing you to Glance.
Old Sarge Says:
Round 1: I got the solo with Luke Cage I hate fighting Mangog. His Unstoppable is SO LONG. Remember not to Parry. I used Luke in case I pushed him to SP3. I never got him there but I did eat and SP2 to the face and Luke shrugged it off thanks to his Awakened Ability.
Round 2: I tried CapIW and it did not go well at all. I did get him down with Sandman but it was close- to be fair, I don't really know how to use Sandman all that well though.
Final Round: Not gonna lie- I hate fighting this guy. I tried Spider Gwen but she just can't handle the block damage. I used Onslaught and he did some damage but I am still learning him. Finished him off with Sandman. Tough fight.
Civilian Intel:
SheHulk wrecks him.
Quicksilver is an easy W- Start with heavy and dash back to get above 300 charges while glancing falls off. You don't have to worry about unstoppable or miss. You can also do full M-L-L-LM combos and it won't make Mangog's rage increase.
Torch, well, torches.
Photon works great- She totally tanked his Sp2 with minimal damage
Void works great.
Bishop for Mangog - huge energy resistance nerfed Mangog’s damage from sp2.

Chapter 2.1
MYSTIC
Main Nodes:
Occult Equilibrium: If you regen you power drain them.
Siphoning Strength: Each time you power drain/Burn/Steal the defender you get a fury.
Power Overwhelming: The more power they have the less damage you do.
Bring:
Doom (Sp1 Spam), Claire (Sp2 in Bleed mode), Sorcerer Supreme (start on Power Control phase), Dr Voodoo (spam Sp2), Mojo, Dormammu, Diablo (with Prefight "Nullify"), OG Guillotine, Hood (awakened), Wong (use his regen spell + energy spell), Kindred stomps 2.1, while outbreak is active he consistently re-applies heal and drains power extremely fast

Landmine Path Fights:
Quest Boss: Korg (Skill)
Main Nodes:
Immovable Object: Every 10 hits on your Combo Meter gives you a Steadfast Buff (can block 1 Unblockable hit)
Roll With The Punches: Each time you Stun him the Stun time is reduced by 20% unless you have an active Buff or Prowess Passive when he is Stunned.
Root or Rooted: You get Rooted every 12 seconds for 5 seconds. If you are far away from him when the timer expires he gets Rooted. Timer is paused during Specials.
Powering Up: You can only gain power while Charging Heavy.
Perforate: Both champs Specials are Unblockable.
Old Sarge Says:
Round 1: OK- so I got the solo with OG Storm. This is kind of a fun fight. You definitely wanna bring one of the Storms or Bishop- a champ that has a passive stun on Parry. Then use the Root or Rooted node to your advantage- don't attack while he is Rooted (stay away when that timer expires so he gets Rooted) and then just back up and hold Heavy to get your Power up while he's Rooted. Just remember to knock his Rock Stacks down.
Round 2: I ran Onslaught against him and he does well. I did die but I'm still learning how he works.
Round 3: I ran Onslaught again and got the solo. Like I said in Round 1- use the Root against him. Get him rooted and build your power.
Final Round: I brought OG Storm back in and got beat up pretty good. Brought in Doom and he ate my lunch. lol. Finished up with BWCV.
Civilian Intel:
Bishop made him absolutely laughable. Havok was also a good option. Both are Saga Champs.
Zemo should work.
Prof X works really well for the TB Korg also Works exactly the same way he worked for last month King Groot.
Charge to sp1 and use it. Once at 100 charges, root Korg then charge to just below sp3. Spam sp2 until he gone.
If anyone else happens to have a 7r3 juggy, he just steamrolls the 2.1 korg. Kinda funny since Korg had always been a really annoying champ for me

Chapter 2.2
SCIENCE
Main Nodes:
Just bring Science champs that are immune to Poison. If you don't have that then dex and parry to remove the poisons they are going to put on you.
Also: bring a science attacker that puts non-damaging Debuffs on the defender.
Bring:
Ibomb, CapIW, Abomination, SheHulk, RedHulk, Overseer, Anti-Venom, Scorpion (use either of his prefights), Immortal HULK, Antman, GHulk, Void
Mr. Fantastic (his ‘Debuff Syphon’ pre-fight turns the poison into a healing node for any champion- and it is a non-damaging debuff)

Landmine Path Fights:
Quest Boss: Odin (Cosmic)
Main Nodes:
Usurpation: Your Combat Power Rate is reduced by 100%. Every 15 hits you steal a bar of his Power.
Combat Deja vu: When you land the same type of hit twice in a row he gains a Prowess Buff for 10 seconds.
Buff Toggle (Unblockable): Every 8 seconds he gets an Unblockable. for 4 seconds.
Apex Predators: Every 30 seconds, all Buffs on both Champs are Nullified. Whoever has the most Buffs nullified gets a 500% Fury passive and an Unblockable Passive for 10 seconds. In the event of a tie both champs get the Fury and Unblockable.
Inflated Ego: The Defender takes 100% less Damage when he does not have at least 3 Buffs on him. (Welp- that eliminates all the Nullifiers. lol)
Old Sarge Says:
Round 1: This was an easy fight for Hulkling. I'll be honest, I just played like he was Stun immune so I didn't have to watch for Unblockable. I didn't worry about the Combat Deja vu Prowess's. I just fought him normally. I ended with 100% health. Both his SP1 and 2 are easy to Dex. And you steal a bar every 15 hits so the SP3 was never really a concern. I did have one SP3 not do any damage thanks to Inflated Ego mixed with Apex Predators nodes.
Round 2: lol- I forgot you need 3 buffs on Odin for you to do damage. I tried Claire and that went poorly. But- Overseer was able to handle it. Just play him Stun Immune- his Specials are easy to Dex.
Round 3: I got tore up pretty good this time. I brought Odin in and pretty much forgot how to use him- lol. And then I couldn't intercept worth a shit with Scorpion, so I finished him off with Overseer.
Final Round: Easy solo with Hulkling. Same as Round 1.
Civilian Intel:
Chavez wrecks 2.2 Odin. It basically turns into special spams since you're constantly stealing his power.
White Tiger is really good for both Odin and The Serpent bosses. For Odin, her sp2 has a ton of hits so it’s super easy to increase combo by 15 to steal power.
Being a XMagika champ, it also makes her a great option for the Paragauntlet objective for the T2 dust
Venom: assuming you bring in Scorpion for the main lanes, Venom is a very good option against Odin. Power gain from the Scorpion synergy bypasses the node.
Spidey Supreme!
Kushala, she did great. Just kept cycling sp2s to keep the soul barb damage up, didn't need to worry about the Inflated Ego node.
Juggy handled him pretty easily. Since you usually have 7-10 Unstoppables on him its pretty easy to have more buffs than Odin
Angela with Odin pre-fights made it easy. You have more buffs than the boss, and with decent sig, she’s immune to nullify.
Void, worked fine. Don’t parry while he’s unblockable, multiple lights to make sure he has 3+ buffs, specials are easy to dex. Fairly sure anyone could do it.

Chapter 3.1
#Avenger | TECH
Main Nodes:
Short Temper: Each Cross Charge gives you a +30% Attack Rating. After winning a fight. you convert that Cross Charge with you (up to 5 Cross Charges) into Fury Passives and those last the next 2 fights.
Critically Drained: #Avengers Attackers and Tech's gain a Power Drain Charge whenever they land a Critical Hit on the Defender. Performing a Medium combo ender consumes all charges and inflicts a Power Drain on the Defender for each charge consumed, each draining 5% of the Defender’s Max Power.
Power Exchange: #Avengers Attackers and Techs gain a Cross Charge each time they Power Drain, Burn or Lock the Defender. Max stacks 10.
Explanation: Land a crit to gain a power drain charge. Performing a combo ending with Medium consumes all charges and applies a 5% power drain for each charge. Each time you power drain/burn/lock, gain a cross charge. Defender gains an energize passive after throwing a special.
Bring:
Tech: Power Drainers will beast this Quest. Warlock, G2099, Civil Warrior, Vision(s), HulkBuster, Peni, etc...
#Avengers: Ant-Man, OG BP, BPCW, OG Black Widow, BWDO, OG Cap, CapIW, Cap Sam Wilson, Falcon, Hawkeye, OG Hulk, Gladiator Hulk, HulkBuster, OG Ironman, IMIW, Kate Bishop, Mantis, Namor, Quicksilver, Ronin, Sigil Scarlet Witch, OG Thor, Thor Rags, Vision, Vision AOU
Shuri + Namor destroy 3.1. The synergy gives them guaranteed crits for their first 10 hits, so it's a near-instant full charges. Namor is also an avenger so it works for the node
Power Control champs are an option as well.
Old Sarge Says: Pretty straight forward fights. Do a bunch of lights and hope for crits and then throw a Medium to power drain. Or use Vision, HB etc to power drain. Falcon is really good for this quest. Locked On increases crit rating and you'll crit more often. Throw a MLLLM after 4-6 charges to do decent power drain. Use HB, Hawkeye, or Vision(s) to just do a normal power drain.

Path counters provided by Drachenherz:
Landmine Path Fights:
Quest Boss: The Destroyer (Mystic)
Main Nodes:
Alternating Special Bias: Alternates between SP1 and SP2 Bias every 8 seconds.
Diversion: Every 15 seconds you get a Falter Passive for 8 seconds. If you are away from him then he gets the Falter for 4 seconds.
Subterfuge - Block: Each time you Parry you get a Fury for 10 seconds.
Backup Recovery: When he goes under 50% Health he gets a burst of 25% Power. If a reduction to his Ability Accuracy prevents this he recovers 20% of his Health instead.
Old Sarge Says:
Round 1: His Power Gain mechanic is dumb. It doesn't take long for him to just run straight to SP3. You need someone that can just put a ton of Debuffs on him to keep his Destruction Charges down (remove 1 charge for each Debuff)- when he hits 100 Charges its straight to SP3. Doom put in some solid work but I screwed up and tried to intercept him (he is always Unstoppable when he is Dashing). I got my ass kicked when I used HulkBuster (too many Buffs). And Scorpion put in some solid work. But I couldn't keep up with his Destruction Charges. Finally got him with Warlock. I am sure the Community will spill the tea on the best champs. I'm gonna bring Torch next time. Also NOTE: If a champ is immune to Buffs, he still gains a Destruction Charge when they should have gotten a Buff (that's kind of OP in my opinion).
His SP1 is easy to Dex. I only saw the SP2 once but there is a beam on a downward angle at the end to Dex.
Round 2: I tried both CapIW and Torch and both did not do so well. I finally got him down with Hulkbuster but it was just SP1 smash SP1 smash and hope for the best. Should have died but he refused to use his SP3 (thankfully). Tough champ to beat. That Power Gain is rough. I don't have Photon or Silk so this is gonna cost a revive or two before I'm 100% explored I just know it.
Round 3: For an easy fight- use Luke Cage. Plenty of Debufs if you spam Light Attacks. I did died when I had him at like 3% because for some reason Parry just stopped working.
Round 4: This fight went exactly the same as Round 3. I used Luke for most of it and but this time at the end instead of Parry failing me, I just kept missing him even though I didn't have a Falter on me from the Diversion node.
Final Round: I saw that Hammy used Titania and it looked like a fun fight- it was not. He wrecked me. But Sandman did really well. Anyone that puts a lot of Debuffs on him will work great.
Sarge's Initial Thoughts: Super cool champ. I really love his look- the Eye Blast is ridiculously awesome.
Civilian Intel:
Quicksilver: he's great for Destroyer. Falter/miss counter at 300 momentum and the stack withers to offset the 4 bar power again. It'd be nice if he could counter the unstoppable too (like he normally can), but it's really not a big deal. Just remember not to attempt intercepts.
Silk absolutely demolishes Destroyer
Photon is great here.
Titania- SP3 rotation.
Void works pretty well in the TB Difficulty/ Paragon Gauntlet, making him quite interesting for the gauntlet since he's a also a good mangog counter, should also work against squirrel girl
BWDO also worked well for a run on Destroyer
Void works great.

Chapter 3.2
SKILL
Main Nodes:
Martial Discipline: Every 5 crits purify all Debuffs from you.
Fighting Pit: When you are immune to a Debuff you get a fury.
Accident Prone: Every 5 seconds you are inflicted with a Debuff in the following order: Weakness, Disorient, Armor Break, and then Special Lock. Each last 10 seconds.
Heal Block: Permanent heal block.
Bring:
Anyone that crits a lot. OMG- Misty is sooo good here! Stealthy is a beast. Nick F works but takes a long time to ramp up. Blade works well. Hit-Monkey. Aegon, Shang-Chi, MoleMan, Ronin is a lot of fun here. GwenPool is fun as well, KingPin, Falcon, XBones, DDHK - pretty much any skill champ can run these paths. Elsa, Black Panther OG, BWDO
Bullseye- every hit is a Crit.
Civilian Intel: Heimdall, Moleman (Path MVP), Hood + Kingpin
Mint'y Fresh:

Landmine Path Fights:
Easy path: Next to last fight is Red Skull- he is a horrible fight now. He took out my Nick. I was able to get him with Kingpin. I hate fighting this bastard now. Good luck.
NOTE: Apparently Bullseye is a great counter for Red Skull.
Quest Boss: The Serpent (Cosmic)
Main Nodes:
Mystic Curse: When a Mystic Attacker launches a Special it puts a Poison on him. The potency of the Poison is increased by 40% for each Buff on him.
Special Vortex: When he gets a Bar of Power, a 5 second timer is started, unless it's already active. If you launch a Special before the timer ends you steal 30% of his Power for yourself. If the timer expires without you launching a Special you drain 10% of his Power.
Immunity (Shock): Immune to Shock.
Obstinate Charge: He is Stun Immune on his first attack. Cooldown for 8 seconds when you parry.
Old Sarge Says:
Round 1: Not gonna lie- I have no idea what was going on in this fight. He kept getting locked in place- so when I was hitting him he wasn't moving back. He has Stun immunity as well sometimes. And he resisted Doom's Unblockable on SP1 but he never punished me for it. Doom wrecked him- just spam SP1 the whole fight. I ended at 99% health. It was a really really weird fight. Just be super aggressive and when you get an SP1- launch it. My 6* R4 Sig 200 Doom did it in 121 hits.
Round 2: I tried Kushala and it went terrible. Granted- it was the first time I ever used her in a fight- but still- terrible. Had to restart the path- went with Doom for the easy solo again. His SP1 Power Drain coupled with the Special Vortex node makes him the best choice I have. This is gonna be the Doom Show for the rest of these rounds I think.
Round 3 - Final Round: Yup- I just used Doom for the rest.
Sarge's Initial Thoughts: I think The Destroyer looks better. But Serpent is cool as well. I didn't get to see many of his moves or anything since Doom just kind of kept him in the corner and never really let him do anything.
Civilian Intel:
Kingpin- Spam SP1.
White Tiger, if she’s duped she will prevent him going unblockable on specials and she gains power quickly naturally.
Being a XMagika champ, it also makes her a great option for the Paragauntlet objective for the T2 dust
White Tiger for Serpent. Solid, power steal on specials, nullifies power gain with L ending combo, gains power during his power gain. If you get a bleed off during his regen it will block his healing and transfer to you. She gets plenty of specials during this fight. Easy solo.
Spidey Supreme!
Sorcerer Supreme is a fun option for the Serpent. Can spam specials. I fought terrible and still got the solo.
Kushala is also excellent since she can just block all of his specials. Use SP2 for the soul barb to avoid nullifying his power gain and making trouble down the road

Civilian Intel: For this months paragon objective Kate bishop easily solos all bosses except serpent. Didn't try against serpent since he’s Coldsnap immune. But maybe it’s possible with her other trick arrows.

Bishop- squirrel and Korg
Kate bishop- Mangog and destroyer
Kushala- Odin and serpent
All solos, no items.
